5,000 kg vegetables used to decorate Mahaliamman Temple ahead of Independence Day


Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu), Aug 12 (ANI): Ahead of the 70th Independence Day, the Mahaliamman Temple in Coimbatore is decorated with 5,000 kilograms of vegetables. The temple is decorated in different themes during the month of Aadi, fourth month in Tamil Calendar that holds special importance to Tamil people. This is the last week of Aadi month and 50 varieties of vegetables were used to bring this temple to life. The sanctum and goddesses, known as Amman in local language, have been decorated with Tricolour vegetables. All these vegetables will be distributed to the devotees on the following day.
