Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will play their opening game against Rajasthan Royals on April 2 (Sunday) at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. IPL 2023 is set to begin on March 31.
During the league stage of IPL 2023, Sunrisers Hyderabad will play a total of 14 games. In addition to Lucknow Super Giants, Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, and Rajasthan Royals, SRH will play only once against Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Gujarat Titans, and Punjab Kings.

The team has named Aiden Markram as its captain for IPL 2023. In the IPL auction of 2023, SRH bought 13 players. Harry Brook was the most expensive buy for the team at Rs. 13.25 crore. Mayank Agarwal was another costly purchase for SRH at Rs. 8.25 crore.
SRH had a poor season last season. They played 14 games, won 6 matches and lost 8. They finished 8th in the points table and did not qualify for playoffs. As a result of their win over Royal Challengers Bangalore in the final of the 2016 IPL, SRH won the IPL once.
